Welcome to Percy Julian PTO website!

Welcome all to a wonderful and exciting new academic year! Whether you are new to the school or a seasoned veteran, we hope you will jump right in and get involved in our school community. Parents are the heart of a school and the kids need you! We hope to meet and inform you of the many exciting volunteer opportunities at our first annual PTO meeting, September 10, 2007.

Meetings are held in the Julian Media Center on the 3rd floor, just off the elevators. There will be refreshments! We also plan to cover critical academic and developmental topics with presentations and guest speakers. We hope that you find our meetings informative and valuable.

How do you join the PTO? If you are a Julian parent, teacher or staff member, then you are already a member — just show up! Your input is very important to us. We really want to hear your ideas and concerns.

Another wonderful way to keep up on what’s happening at Julian (and save trees!) is to sign up for our Internet newsletter, Just In @ Julian. Just send a quick email message to our Communications Secretary, Jill Moorhead at jilllev@comcast.net and she will include you in these weekly emails.

You can also support the PTO by volunteering and supporting the upcoming fundraisers (please read about this year’s fundraisers on the back of this sheet!), and by making a PTO Annual Donation (info included in this packet). Suggested donations range from $5-$25 per family per school year. Even a small donation is very helpful! The money raised by the PTO helps fund programs and special events, school improvements, field trips, purchase school supplies and more — all the great things that make Julian a great school for our children.

We’re looking forward to a FANTASTIC year!
